Adaptive Rowing for Challenged Athletes

San Diego Rowing Club volunteers have started a regional adaptive rowing center  for both civilian and militaty adaptive rowers.

Via private contributions plus grant support of the USOC Paralympics organization and the Veteran's Administration;  the SDRC now has the equipment to support all classifications of challenged athletes.

With the community support of many - including record holder Angela Madsen, Concept2, WINTECH, Alden and the Rudy Project - we are committed to success for this community outreach project.

Row Ontario and Row Canada folks have also been extremeny helpful!

The Club now supports monthly learn to row sessions for injured servicemen and wounded warriors.

* It also hosts local challenged athletes for on-water and land fitness training.

** It was instrumental in the first ever Rowing segment of the Paralympics Sports Camp in October, 2010.

*** The Club played a pivotal role in the first ever VA Summer Sports Camp held at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center in September, 2011

The Club's Coggeshall Center is accessible for all classes of adaptive rowers.

We launch our sculls and sweep boats from a beach on Mission Bay.
